These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of PDF As You Go (the “Service”), operated by Modern Paper Inc. (“Modern Paper”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service — including the MCP server and the HTTP API — you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.
1. The Service
Section titled “1. The Service”PDF As You Go performs PDF operations — such as merging, watermarking, encrypting, and editing pages — that you request through the MCP server or HTTP API. The available operations and their behavior are described in this documentation.
2. No account; access
Section titled “2. No account; access”The Service does not require an account or API key. Access during private preview may be granted on request and may be limited, rate-limited, or revoked at our discretion. You are responsible for the wallet and client software you use to access the Service.
3. Payment
Section titled “3. Payment”- Price. Each operation costs a flat fee (USD $0.05 per operation at the time of writing), payable per call over the x402 protocol in USDC.
- Settlement. Payments are verified and settled on a public blockchain via a payment facilitator. Blockchain network costs, wallet software, and the availability of the relevant network are outside our control.
- Failed operations. Operations that fail due to invalid input are not charged; where a charge has settled but the operation does not produce a result, we refund the operation fee, as described in Errors & failures.
- Taxes. Prices are exclusive of any taxes. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your use of the Service, other than taxes on our income.
- No custody. We do not hold balances or prepaid credits on your behalf; you pay per call.
4. Acceptable use
Section titled “4. Acceptable use”You agree that you will not, and will not permit anyone using your wallet or client to:
- submit or process any document you do not have the right to process;
- use the Service to remove passwords, restrictions, or digital signatures from documents you do not own or are not authorized to modify;
- use the Service to infringe intellectual-property rights, violate privacy, or process unlawful content;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- circumvent or interfere with the payment mechanism, rate limits, or other protections; or
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or sanctions.
We may suspend or block access that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or threatens the Service.
5. Your content
Section titled “5. Your content”You retain all rights to the documents and data you submit (“Your Content”). You grant Modern Paper a limited license to host, process, and transform Your Content solely to provide the requested operation and return the result. We process and retain Your Content as described in the Privacy Policy and Privacy & retention.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit Your Content and to have the requested operation performed on it.
6. Intellectual property
Section titled “6. Intellectual property”The Service, including its software, documentation, and branding, is owned by Modern Paper and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right in our trademarks or other intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as permitted here.
7. Third-party services
Section titled “7. Third-party services”The Service relies on third parties you also interact with, including blockchain networks, wallet software, and payment facilitators. We are not responsible for those third parties, their availability, fees, or conduct. Your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
8. Privacy
Section titled “8. Privacy”Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Disclaimers”The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any output will meet your requirements. During private preview the Service may be unstable and is not intended for production-critical use without your own validation.
10. Limitation of liability

Limitation of liability”To the maximum extent permitted by law, Modern Paper will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.
