Privacy & retention

How PDF As You Go handles your documents — transient processing, short retention, and no use for training.

PDF As You Go processes documents transiently. Files are used to perform the operation you asked for and then deleted. Nothing is kept for training, analysis, or resale.

Data Retention (preview default)
Input documents (fetched or uploaded) Held only for the duration of the operation, then deleted.
Output documents (the result) Kept behind a signed URL for 60 minutes, then deleted.
Operation metadata (timestamps, operation type, byte/page counts, payment reference) Retained for accounting and abuse prevention. Does not include document contents.

After the output window passes, the download URL stops working and the file is removed from storage. Fetch or hand off your result promptly — see File handling.

  • No training. Your documents are never used to train models.
  • No resale or sharing. Document contents are not sold, shared, or repurposed.
  • No content profiling. We don’t mine document contents; retained metadata is operational (counts, timestamps, payment reference), not the file’s text or images.

Output URLs are signed and single-purpose: the token embedded in the link grants access, so no separate credential is needed to download. Treat the URL itself as a secret — anyone with the link can fetch the file until it expires. Don’t log it where it shouldn’t be seen, and prefer handing it directly to the next step in your workflow.

Operations like add password and add restrictions apply protection to the output document. Passwords and owner passwords you supply are used only to perform the operation and are subject to the same transient handling — they are not retained after the operation completes.

If you have specific data-handling requirements for a preview deployment, raise them when you request access or contact support@pdfasyougo.com. Final retention windows and any configurability will be documented at general availability.
